Finding Fontinalis – South Lake Tahoe
July 6at6:00 pm - 10:00 pmFree
Local Freshies® in association with South Lake Brewing announces the Lake Tahoe premiere of the film Finding Fontinalis. The tour is also a fundraiser for Cal Trout. With the United States’ decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord, it’s up to us as a community to pick up the slack and help save the environment for future generations! So, here at Local Freshies® we decided to ask some of our favorite local businesses to join with us to show this amazing film and raise money for the environment!
A Patagonia Documentary
In our first ever summer film premiere, we will showcase Patagonia’s newest film Finding Fontinalis from Travis Lowe. This amazing documentary will take you to the heart of Patagonia and one of the last remaining, world class brook trout fisheries. Inspired by an old gaucho’s tale of “The place with the big red fish”, a crew of fishermen head out to search for a new world-record brook trout. For those curious like me, ‘gaucho’ is a term used for cowboys residing in the Patagonian grasslands of South America. During this journey, the water, landscape and culture surrounding it become the impetus to conserve and protect it all.
Featuring Bart Bonime, Bryan Gregson, Agustin Fox and Yvon Chouinard, Finding Fontinalis exposes you to both jaw-dropping landscapes and hook-jawed trout.
This will definitely be a unique event that is more than just an amazing movie premiere. It’s about bringing our communities together to make a difference. Together we can change the world and save the places like Lake Tahoe and Patagonia where we live and play!
