What: The 6th annual Silverton Splitfest in Silverton, CO
Details: Ride new lines, make new friends, learn new backcountry skills, and demo the latest splitboard gear in some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. At this event there will be free splitboard demos from a host of manufacturers.

As an added bonus, San Juan Mountain Guides will be running two special courses during Splitfest weekend for those newer to splitboarding! Please note: registration for SJMG courses is not included in your Splitfest registration – you must register with SJMG directly. See below for details.
Are you new to splitboarding? Have you spent the season skinning your local resort but want to expand your adventures to the backcountry? Maybe you’ve already experienced a tour but things just aren’t clicking for you? Join us for an all-day Introduction to Splitboarding where you’ll learn how to travel and make turns in the backcountry. This workshop includes lots of practice in uphill/downhill techniques and transitions with field discussions focused on considerations for safe and successful mountain touring Participants should expect to spend a full day in the field, climbing and riding off-piste as we develop the skills and techniques necessary to accelerate your competence in the sport.
All ready a splitboarding aficionado? This session is designed to assist intermediate riders with the refinement of their systems and backcountry travel strategies. Join us for a fun filled day of climbing and riding, formulated to take your skills and objectives to the next level!
Silverton Splitfest is not a guided event and attendees will be responsible for their own safety and decisions throughout the event. Attendees are responsible for providing their own backcountry gear including beacon, shovel and probe.
Registration for this event closes April 1st. Logistics information and a detailed itinerary will be emailed as the event date gets closer. Please note that your registration is not refundable, however it is transferable. If you are unable to attend you may sell your spot to another attendee. The original purchaser must email firstname.lastname@example.org to transfer registration into someone else’s name.
