If you haven’t seen Northern Grease then this is your last chance to see this film in person in Lake Tahoe. This independent documentary follows Tamo Campos, John Muirhead, Lewis Muirhead, Jasper Snow Rosen, Landon Yerex and Hannah Campbell as they travel in a vegetable oil fueled bus throughout British Columbia and Alberta. The gang, on a mission to understand Canadian resource extraction projects, visit industrial towns, interview the people involved with and affected by resource extraction, and learn about some of the problems presented by practices like fracking and the Tar Sands.

First 120 people get a FREE Lift Ticket!

At our last stop the first 120 people will be receiving a FREE early season lift ticket to Sierra-at-Tahoe. Since it’s an El Nino winter you know that will be off the chain this winter and Sierra is the best resort for storm skiing/snowboarding in the Lake Tahoe. Why? Here’ a little history lesson for you. During the 1800’s when they were clear cutting all pine and spruce trees for the silver mines in Virginia City they left all the “cheap” red fir trees creating some of the best old growth tree skiing in Tahoe.

That’s not all!

With over $5,000 worth of items being raffled off on the Northern Grease – Lake Tahoe Tour this is definitely an event to be at. Proceeds from the raffle will be split between Beyond Boarding and the League to Save Lake Tahoe (Keep Tahoe Blue).

Our goal at Local Freshies is to support and promote local business at any and every chance we get and it’s awesome to see that these people have done the same thing in return. This is only highlighting some of our biggest donors that have gone out of their way to make this event possible and to raise money for this good cause.
