Earlier this week the 35th annual North Lake Tahoe Snowfest began. For those unfamiliar with this festival it is ten days and nights, which takes place every spring to celebrate life in the High Sierra. This is the biggest winter festival in the west. With cool events like a torchlight parade, laser show, fireworks, town parades, polar bear swim, dog pull, The Great Ski Race and the Snowfest Queen competition there is sure to be something for everyone!
On mountain and off the numerous resorts and businesses in North Lake Tahoe have come together to create an amazing array of activities that are sure to provide excitement and entertainment. On snow events will be held at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Diamond Peak and Northstar-at-Tahoe. There will also be plenty of opportunity for wining and dining in the areas fine restaurants.
Since Mother Nature has decided to cooperate, this year’s festival will be bigger and better than events past. The Snowfest is jam packed with activities for all ages. With so many things to it’s sure to be a good time for all.
