Where is Shangri-la? Does it even exist? To find out where it’s located you need to know what defines it? Normally, it’s described as a location high up in the mountains isolated from the outside world. A paradise that is untouched, pure and beautiful. That can only mean one thing…Shangri-la must be the Powder Highway. Located in interior British Columbia, halfway between Whistler and Banff deep in the Kootenay Rockies it’s the largest concentration of ski and snowboard destinations in the world. This region receives some of the deepest and driest snowfall on the continent. With a collection of ski resorts, heli-skiing operations, cat-skiing operations, and backcountry lodges there is no better place to find your own paradise.

We began our trip with a week in Whitefish Montana and then headed north chasing the goods on THE POWDER HIGHWAY.  Join us on our journey that began in late January and lasted over a mont. We traveled over 3,000 miles to enjoy snowboarding, breweries, food, relaxation and new experiences! Here’s what to expect.

First Heli-skiing experience with Selkirk Tangiers

First Cat-skiing experience at Baldface

For anyone that has seen Red Bull’s All Natural or one of Travis Rice’s movies the Baldface Lodge is THE premier Cat Skiing and Boarding operation. We spent four full days enjoying what Baldface has to offer.  Something this sweet needed multiple posts!  Check out our in depth articles here:
