Every fall the Sierra Nevada Mountain Community takes a big step towards snow safety. Backcountry enthusiasts, community leaders, industry professionals and emergency personnel gather to share knowledge and prepare for the snow season at the annual California Avalanche Workshop. This is a preseason knowledge sharing gathering of the backcountry snow traveling enthusiasts and an opportunity to analyze accidents, learn from pros, and network.
