Snowboard movie premieres typically come with little or no advance notice. They’re focused less about the show itself and more about the people in the film, letting everyone kick back, blow off some steam while generating buzz about their artistic endeavors. The two year project Landline by Vans is a great example of this. With only a few days notice, they’re already kicking off the small tour of this film. If you live near any of these tour stops, we HIGHLY recommend you drop everything and check it out.
Landline… The Vinyl Record of Snowboard Films
Vans is putting out their first-ever full-length snowboard film, LANDLINE. Shot on Kodak 16mm, it feels less like a homogeneous digital MP3 and more like a vinyl record. As any audiophile knows, the warmth you get from raw gritty sounds coming from of a record are far superior than any other format. Through this visual outlet, the film showcases the talented Vans snowboard team as they travel all over the world. Featuring full segments from some of the biggest names in modern snowboarding, alongside up-and-comers and pioneers, LANDLINE aims to put the true spirit and culture of snowboarding on display.
