When I hear the words “all inclusive”, the first thing that comes to mind are places in Mexico or the Caribbean. Sure, that’s fine for those who want to escape the cold weather during winter but what about the rest of us who want to escape the “heat” of summer. Are there all-inclusive resorts in the mountains of North America? The answer is yes! Here’s a few of our favorite destinations from luxurious to truly remote getaways.
New Life Hiking Spa
Considered the original “hiking spa” and wellness retreat in North America, New Life is now celebrating its 40th anniversary. Once the lifts stop turning at Killington in May, the oldest Hiking Spa kicks into high gear allowing you to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Green Mountains. Their packages include a private room with a private bath, guided hikes along the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail, three freshly prepared meals a day, all fitness and yoga classes, wellness lectures and one massage for each three-night stay.
Dunton Hot Springs
Dunton, Colorado (Near Telluride)
This place is definitely on our personal bucket list. Located deep in the San Juan Mountains, past the town of Telluride, is a ghost town named Dunton. Now revived and converted into an all-inclusive resort, the town is filled with perfectly restored cabins. Since every cabin was hand-built, each has its own charm and feel. It will give you a chance to reconnect with nature in comfort and yet pull away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. Soak your weary bones in the bathhouse or better yet the outdoor springs surrounded by wildflowers.
Spruce Hill Summer Resort & Spa
108 Mile Ranch, British Columbia
A true destination resort situated deep in the Cariboo Mountain range, Spruce Hill offers you an opportunity to improve yourself AND relax at an affordable price. Located on a ranch with over 20,000 acres of wilderness, you’ll really feel the peace and serenity you need. While it offers all-inclusive packages, their approach is to give you a menu of items to select from, making for the biggest bargain and yet at the same time an affordable trip.
