When Jaime and I got married, we spent our honeymoon on the Powder Highway for a month. More of a ‘snowymoon’ than a honeymoon. We visited numerous hot springs, had thrilling adventures, and skied on soft snow, but we didn’t get to experience it at its best. I caught the flu and ended up being sick for half the trip, and it was one of the worst winters the region had seen in over thirty years. It left us wanting to return.
This winter, to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, we’re going back and have booked a cat skiing trip. Join us from March 18th to 20th, 2025, at White Grizzly in Meadow Creek, BC, and check off an item on your bucket list too!
Why White Grizzly
Compared to most cat ski operations, White Grizzly stands head and shoulders above the rest. How so? Due to their distinctive topography, their terrain averages between 30 and 45 degrees, unlike the industry standard of 30 degrees (i.e., blue square trails). This translates to bigger days—an impressive 16,500 to 20,000 vertical feet in a day, compared to other operations that typically only offer 10,000 feet.
Adding to the allure, Meadow Creek’s micro-climate ensures that the 400 to 600 inches of snow they receive stays cold and fluffy. It truly is “steep n’ deep.” To learn more about the operation, click below:

A few years ago, we checked off another bucket list item by inviting readers to join us on our heli-skiing trip. Don’t let another year go by where you ski the same slopes or visit the same resort. Make this the year to remember, for exciting and adventurous reasons. Reserve your spot here before it’s too late! Let them know Local Freshies sent ya. As Warren Miller said, “If you don’t do it this year, you will be one year older when you do.”
