Besides venturing into the summer wilderness, discovering new and exciting activities like Via Ferrata or a backcountry tap room, we’ve also used this time to start upgrading our website. After nearly three years of writing about cool hole-in-the-wall spots & guides on how to best ski or snowboard a resort, we’ve now got a home page for our Ultimate Guides.
Travel Guides to North American Ski Resorts
Let’s be honest… there’s no such thing as the BEST ski resort or the GREATEST ski-town. There is though the BEST place for you to visit! It could be based on snow, après activities or maybe even time of year. Our new Local Freshies® Destinations section gives you a chance to look at all the information we’ve gathered over the years in a fun and informative way.
The Map
First thing we did is create an interactive map of North America, highlighting each ski town and/or resort we’ve visited or chronicled. We’ve covered obscure places such as Tyrol Basin and popular ones like Lake Tahoe. And just below the interactive map, we’ve upgraded six specific regions:
- Lake Tahoe
- Northern Rockies
- Pacific Northwest
- Powder Highway
- Colorado
- Midwest
Each regional page contains more detailed information including winter resort guides AND summer activities happening in that part of the country. Are we missing anything specific? If so, let us know and we’ll add it!
Are we done upgrading our site?
Absolutely not! If you followed us last season, we visited Idaho for nearly three weeks checking out a whole new part of the country including:
- McCall & Donnelly – Home to Brundage and Tamarack Resorts
- Wallace & Kellogg – Home to Silver Mountain and Lookout Pass
In the next month, we will be releasing these new locations along with a few others like Mount Bohemia in the UP. Until then, let us know what else you’d love to see on our website.
