St. Patrick’s Day is almost as American as it is Irish. How so? Well, in the eighteenth century, Irish soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary War were the first to hold St. Patrick’s Day parades. The celebrations became a way for the Irish to connect with their roots after they moved to America. Why not enjoy this spring-time party in the mountains! Here are just a few suggestions on how to enjoy Saint Patrick’s Day at US Ski Resorts.
Craft Beers & Gear Demos

Biggest St. Patrick’s Day in the Mountains
Mount Snow, Vermont
It seems like anything fun and zany in the East happens on Mount Snow, like the Jack Jumping Championships. For St. Patty’s Day, nearly ten thousand people descend annually onto its slopes dressed in costume to rock out to live outdoor Irish Music. They start the festivities with eggs and kegs. Then the fun heads up to the mountain for a Pot O’ Gold scavenger hunt for a 18/19 season pass. Need some more coaxing? They’re also offering $17 lift tickets for this day too if you buy in advance.
Torchlight Parade
Steamboat, Colorado
In celebration of this day, the Steamboat Snowsports School will be treating folks to a spectacular on-snow parade down the mountain lit only by torches. In conjunction with the torchlight parade, a fireworks display will illuminate the sky providing a perfect ending to the evening.
Pot O’ Gold Hunt & Party
Snowbasin, Utah
This Wasatch resort is home to a Saint Partick’s Day party with not one but MANY pots of gold you can find strewn across the mountain. And the grand prize… an 18/19 season pass! To keep with the Irish tradition, they’ll be serving Corned Beef and Cabbage, Guinness Stew, Green Beer and more. You can then finish the day off with an après ski party in the Cinnabar with FREE live music by Angela Perley and the Howlin’ Moons.
Is there a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration that we’re missing? Let us know and we’ll be sure to add it to our list for next year! Until then –
May the Irish hills caress you.
