I founded localfreshies.com® in 2014 to be the #1 website providing the “local scoop” on where to eat, drink & play in mountain towns throughout North America. While my career was in the IT Industry and marketing since 2003, my passion has always been writing. Inspired by my uncle Algis Budrys, a famous sci-fi writer, I made the leap in 2016 to become a full-time journalist as part of our Local Freshies® marketing agency. I decided to take everything I learned from corporate marketing and apply it to ski towns.
When I’m not writing about my experiences of snowboarding, mountain biking, or cool spots we find on our travels to mountain towns, I’m on the search of the deepest snow in the winter and tackiest dirt in the summer.

Background
Born and raised as a flat lander in Chicagoland, the love of snow over-reached my love for the city of Chicago. I would spend my summers as a teenager working to save up for a season pass to a “local” hill along with trips out West and beyond whenever I could possibly go. Years later, I got the opportunity to ride lots of mountains & follow the snow wherever it was falling. In my travels, I’ve found that no matter how big the vertical or small the town, every destination offers up something unique. My personal goal is to keep these places unique & thriving by communicating all the great things these towns have to offer.
I now live in South Lake Tahoe, California, with my wife and Local Freshies® business partner, Jaime, since 2015 where we spend our free time hiking trails, mountain biking singletrack, backcountry skiing, and snowboarding at our local Lake Tahoe resorts with our personal favorites including Sierra-at-Tahoe, Kirkwood, and Heavenly Mountain.
