It got us thinking, “What are some of the best dedicated splitboarding events out there?” It’s the perfect time of year to start planning your backcountry adventures for this season so why not hit up one of these events! Here are the top 9 Local Freshies® picks for Splitfests across North America (in chronological order).
Tahoe Splitfest
When: February 13 – 15, 2026

Lake Tahoe has a rich tradition of backcountry snowboarding and splitboarding with some of the easiest access in the country. Tahoe Splitfest provide first timers and grizzled, experienced veterans the opportunity to connect and provide education in a safe and supportive environment. Throughout the weekend, expect to find daily avalanche talks from the Sierra Avalanche Center, demos from your favorite brands, splitboard clinics, guest speakers, and of course an amazing gear raffle on Saturday Night!!!
Wasatch Splitfest
When: February 20 – 21, 2026

With deep snow steep lines and easy access straight from the valley the backcountry becomes part of everyday life and the community keeps it fun progressive and rooted in smart decision making. From first timers to grizzled veterans Wasatch Splitfest is about connecting riders and sharing knowledge in a safe supportive space. Pico Hiko Splitboard Festival
When: February 20, 2026
Where: Pico Mountain, Vermont

If you think there isn’t a backcountry festival on the East Coast, you’re wrong! This event gives everyone the opportunity to take Uphill 101 courses and demo equipment. It’s a good introduction to splitboarding for anyone.
Bozeman Split Fest
When: February 27 – March 2, 2026
Where: Bozeman, Montana
Bozeman Splitfest Details
A winter gathering for splitboarders of all levels bringing together riders brands and backcountry education in southwest Montana. With access to everything from mellow meadows to steep couloirs attendees can demo the latest gear learn from industry pros and get safety insights from the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center. It is all about riding connecting and supporting avalanche education with an epic raffle to top it off.
Teton Splitfest
When: March 6 – 7, 2026
Where: Jackson, Wyoming

The Tetons are a BIG mountain range and one of the most beautiful in the world. The Teton Splitfest is an opportunity for you to gather with other like minded splitboarders and create a safe community in the backcountry. Alongside the evening talks, the Jackson Hole Mountain Guides will be hosting clinics for all skill levels from backcountry 1st timers to those who want to step up their game when pow hunting in the wilderness.
Mt Baker Splitfest
When: March 13 – 15, 2026
Where: Mt Baker, Washington
Mt Baker Splitfest Event Details

Mt Baker is home to the Legendary Banked Slalom and access to some of the best side country in the nation, maybe even in North America. This festival is dedicated to bringing Pacific Northwest splitboarders together and raise money for the local avalanche center. It’s also an opportunity to demo splitboards and meet Mt Baker backcountry enthusiasts that really know the wilderness in this region.

Front Range Splitfest
When: April 3 – 5, 2026
Where: Winter Park, Colorado

Looking for like-minded backcountry touring partners? Wanna get a bit more educated or just try the sport? The Front Range Splitfest is the perfect chance for beginner and advanced riders to come together amongst the backdrop of Winter Park, CO and ignite the stoke with guest speakers. Each evening will feature a happy hour, the opportunity to find new touring partners, educational guest speakers, raffles, and movies. AND brands from across the U.S. will demo splitboards, bindings, skins, avy gear and various other backcountry products to the public. Last but not least, all proceeds will go directly to Friends of Berthoud Pass (FOBP) and the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE).
Silverton Splitfest
When: April 10 – 12, 2026
Where: Silverton, Colorado

Nestled in the SW corner of Colorado, Silverton is a small town with minimal inhabitants and big mountains. The perfect combination for a backcountry mission. From a companion rescue refresher course to education talks and free splitboard demos, it’s a great time to check out Colorado’s San Juan Mountain Range.

Oregon Splitfest
When: April 16 – 19, 2026
Where: Mount Hood, Oregon

In past years, the party begins at the Tilly Jane cabin for the annual Oregon Splitfest. To get there on Friday, event goers are required to do an almost 3 mile hike-skin up to the cabins. After an evening of fun, the ski touring and contests commence on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday wraps up with a raffle and silent auction at Crooked Tree Tavern and Grill at Cooper’s Spur Ski Resort from 3-5 p.m. with the proceeds going to the Tilly Jane restoration projects and NWAC. An opportunity for an incredible weekend of ski touring, making friends, and helping out a couple of good causes. What more could you want?
As you can see, there’s a Splitfest in nearly every region across North America so no one gets left out. These events are a perfect way for you to try splitboarding without having to buy all the gear.
